My tenant's moved out of a flat last week and I witheld 240 from their deposit because the sofa covers needed dry cleaning (they were there 3 years) and the whole flat was really dirty. The cost of the Cleaning was 160 and the dry cleaning 40. But I did/will have spent about 3 to 4 hours in taking the sofa covers to and from the dry cleaners, calling up cleaning companies and getting quotes and having to go to the flat (20 miles away) to let the cleaners in. I am wondering if I should charge for this also, I do not want to be unfair but obviously my time has some value to it afterall if they had done it like they should have done I would not have had to spend half a day doing those things. Anyone got an opinion?
