Hi

Would welcome some advice. A lady wants to rent a property of mine; she has three student children (21, 19, 17). She would like them on the tenancy. Obviously 21 and 19 yr old can go on. But as they are students is there really any point, as being named on the AST would make them jointly responsible for rent (and they have no income)? Also as the 17 year old cannot yet go on the tenancy, does she have to be named as living at the address on the AST? Also, what happens when she turns 18; does she then go on to the tenancy? Will it mean a new AST?

Basically, should the adult children go on the AST or not. Any pros and cons to being named on AST/not being on AST.

Be grateful for your help.
