Sometimes we want to!
Thanks you for your response, we normally let things become preiodic but sometimes an extension is required (If the Tenant asks for example). Is there a way to extend the period without issuing new AST and if so what are there any negative issues to doing so?
Alternatively, if we were to issue a new AST granting the extension, and did unprotect then protect the re-deposit would it be acceptable to leave the original check-in inventory in place?
Unless you want to increase the rent you are best doing nothing. The tenancy continues on a month to month basis and both landlord and tenant have to abide by the terms of the original agreement
Hi, Due to the deposit protection regulations, it is a great deal of work to issue a new AST including releasing the deposit (After reconciling any inventory and potentially alienating the currently settled tenants!) creating a new inventory and protecting a 'New' deposit.
Can you please advise on what is the best way to extend the fixed period of the tenancy without all of the above hassle?
