An AST that is now a rolling statutory periodic tenancy states that 2 months notice is needed by the tenant or the landlord to end the tenancy.

I am of the understanding that from a legal standpoint the tenant is actually only required to give 1 months notice.

Does this supersede what is written in the contract? And therefore if the tenant only gives 1 month is there anything the landlord can do?

What/where is the correct legal act (eg Housing Act &Section) that states that the tenant is only required to give one months notice?
