In the past they left the power on when the property was empty waiting for a new tenant. Now they are sending out threatening letters saying they will get magistrates to give them a warrant to break in and disconnect.
This applies to an electric only flat where they can read the meter outside to see no electricity is being used and even disconnect it from outside if they wanted to.
We badly need a landlord friendly power co that would keep a second address for the owners and not keep threatening to break in and disconnect after sending letters to empty flats. Or maybe go to the small effort of looking up the owners on the land registry before going to court!
