Tenants have advised me tonight they have had a chip pan fire which has caused damage to the UPVC window, and some kitchen cupboards etc...they have contents insurance but they are not sure if this covers these items. Can anyone let me know where the Landlord stands on this one? Surely he isnt responsible to claim on his insurance for damage caused by tenants property or negligence? I am trying to get some info together before visiting them in the morning. Any advice would be greatly received.
