what is my legal position please? 4 yrs ago I signed an agreement with a letting agent for 10% commission. Tenant has renewed each year without any problems. this year I told them not to correspond with the tenant about renewal as I wanted them to reduce their commission or I would change agents. they say I am legally bound to pay their commission as long as the same tenant remains in the property whether or not they negotiate the rent. Does this mean I cannot sack them and continue with the same tenant?
