I have just discovered that there had been a leak in my buy to let flat that had been happening for some time consequentially there is extensive water damage to the flat floors and they are all having to be replaced. The letting agent failed to notify me that the plumber had said when repairing the cistern that there had been a leak from the toilet for some time. I am now raising this issue with the letting agent who have said they sent me a copy invoice with a note written on it "toilet seal been leaking for some time" They did not send me a copy of this invoice and in fact have never sent me copies of any invoices relating to repairs.
I feel that the agents should pay the excess charge on my insurance and compensate me for loss of rent while the repairs are being carried out. Have you any advice. They are not members of Property Ombudsman scheme
