Has anyone had dealings with Solitaire Property Management Co Ltd? They own the freehold of a flat I own and let out, and they manage the block of flats. However, apart from being very expensive, they insist everytime I get a new tenant that I have to apply to them for a licence and admin fee which costs £150+. My solicitor has said this is a very grey area, they can charge a reasonable admin fee, say £35 quid, but no more. I would have to go to court to prove it which is obviously very expensive, so I have wondered whether it is better to try and buy the freehold. Has anyone expereince of getting all owners of a block of flats toether to buy the freehold? If so what is the easiest way to go about it. I would welcome any help.
