Back in November I asked if the RLA had any comment to make about the matter of agent's charging a repeat fee when tenants renew their contract and stay in the same property.

Dave A replied: Refuse to pay as this is an unfair contract term unless they are providing one agreed service. Even that has to be agreed after the tenancy expires.

I am not sure what you mean by 'one agreed service' . I am of the understanding that I originally paid for them to find a tenant and to draw up the contract and to do inventory check. Thereafter I did not use the agent to manage the property. My tenant stayed on and I am in dispute with the agent about their intention to charge me a 'finders fee' again. Please can you expand more on your advice. Thanks so much
