What is the general consensus out there in relation to contents insurance for BTL properties. I have previously taken out policies to cover the mimimum of loss should the flat be broken in to or damaged. Obviously the management company (if BTL is a flat) charge you for building insurance and therefore it is really a matter of whether it is the landlord or tenant responsiblity to take out contents insurance. Is 2 policies at 1 address the wrong method (Tenant has a policy for their personal contents, landlord has a policy to cover there contents, for example washer / fridge / electrical goods / expensive furniture)?
