DPs/ single claim/ solicitors costs
this is a continuation of 'my tenants have left the country'
Their deposit is with the Deposit Protection Scheme, but to regain it I need the tenants signature. The tenant had already told me I could keep the bond for the damages but obviously without his signature obviously I can't.
The DPS site talks about the singla claims process for non-contactable tenants and that I would need a solicitor to sign the paperwork.
Has anyone ever been through this process? if so I would be interested to hear your experiences.
Also I'm intending to repair the damages myself but should I get quotes to reflect the extent of the damage?
