I decided to employ a solicitor to assist in evicting a problem tenant and have gone through the complete legal process. The tenant has not tried to stop the eviction process. Although he did send one text message accusing me of gaining access to the property without his consent. But following a letter from my solicitor denying the allegation I heard nothing more.

I now have a bailiff appointment but understand at this late stage the tenant can still apply to the court to delay the eviction.

Please can you advise under what circumstances the court would grant a delay? He has not approached the courts up until now and has had plenty of time to do so. He has 2 small children and I know he has applied to the local council for housing.

Can I do anything more to ensure eviction occurs on the given date?
