Our tenant told us in october 2008 that mould was appearing in the property. We have asked on several occasions for access to inspect and/or carry out repairs but he has always denied it. He even wrote a letter in December accusing us of harrassing him and saying we should not go near the property unless he initiates it. We have heard nothing more from him about mould or any other problems however we have now received a letter from the council stating he has made a complaint about the mould,they have inspected it and suggest work to rectify it. I need to know what my legal position is bearing in mind he always refuses access. He is due to leave in September so we already planned that we would be doing work when he leaves.
We have a meeting with the council this afternoon so would appreciate an early response.
