Recently someone posted a suggestion to serve an abandonment notice.
this would seem to be helpful in a case when the tenant has vanished - and it appears fairly obvious that they have removed possessions of any value.

I have noticed that the RLA do not seem to suggest this course of action in such cases.

I also seem to recall that serving am abandonment termination notice is not much use to a landlord today - but not sure where of how I heard this.

I would appreciate if you could clarify your opinion on this matter?
