Student lets - still a good investment?

Given that the government are changing the structure of tuition fees/student loans do you think that student properties will still be a good investment? I ask as I had been thinking of investing in them over the next few months (in my area they traditionally provide the best yield).

If not, what types of properties would be the best investment currently - HMO, whole family lets, etc or is it best just to judge the properties on the basis of the yield they may achieve?
