We have a tenant who vacated our property while we were in the process of obtaining an order for possession due to rent arrears.

The tenant has subsequently declared himself bankrupt and been discharged and we have received nothing towards the money we are owed.

We have now had a request from the housing office asking us to confirm that the outstanding rent arrears are no longer being persued.

Is this correct or are we still entitled to recover the money owed to us by the former tenant even though he declared himself bankrupt?

Thanks
