I C U Energy Ltd

Cavity Wall Insulation and Renewable Energy

Getting cavity wall insulation installed is a relatively straightforward job and it's an excellent way to save money on your heating bills. The process is easy, inexpensive and causes hardly any disruption, taking less than a day to complete. It can normally be applied from the outside through small holes, drilled in the wall by trained technicians. The insulation is then injected through the holes. Once the cavity is full the holes are filled in to match with the existing wall. It's a simple process that is normally completed within three hours and generally without damage or mess to your house or garden. Around a third of all the heat lost in an un-insulated home is lost through the walls. If you have cavity walls, insulating them will significantly improve the thermal efficiency of your home and it could save you up to £135 a year on your fuel bills. The cost of cavity wall insulation has never been lower as it is subsidised by the Government. For an average house the cost of installation is about £100 - £350, making the return on investment 1 - 3 years.
