Repairs - What a Landlord Needs to Know and Do!
Knowing what repairs a landlord is responsible for can be a complex area. Standards in rented accommodation vary greatly, along with expectations, and it is often the issue of repairs that can make or break a landlord/tenant relationship. Knowing which problems you're obliged to put right, and what you can expect of your tenants, makes for easier management.
This course is delivered by a successful landlord and letting agent with over 11yrs experience of managing rental properties. In parallel, she also has previous experience working as a tenant's rights adviser so has seen and heard many complaints about standards of private rented accommodation. As an experienced trainer and author of numerous published articles for the Citizens Advice Bureau, she has plenty of anecdotal scenarios to bring to the course.
This course will explain what a repair is and break down the key pieces of legislation so that landlords and agents will have a clear understanding of their obligations. It will give delegates an opportunity to discuss those grey areas; do you have to repair the broken shower? Do you really have to unblock the toilet? It will also iron out exactly what we can expect of our tenants in return and what extra steps you need to take to satisfy HMO regulations.

RLAAS is a national scheme who aim to encourage, acknowledge and actively promote good standards and management practice by owners and to assist owners and tenants to undertake their respective responsibilities to each other.
RLAAS is open to all landlords who operate in the private sector, and accreditation is FREE. Members of RLAAS also receive a discount when enroling for a course operated by the Residential Landlord's Association.
