Practical Energy Rating Improvements
This half day course is suitable as a stand alone but also complements the Energy Efficiency Course, covering the wider impact of poor energy efficiency. The course will explore the practical options available to improve the energy efficiency of rented premises and the cost effectiveness of the differing options, including types of insulation, effectiveness of double glazing, low and high cost improvements, and gas versus electric heating.
The energy efficiency regulations will from April 2018 ban the granting of a new tenancy with an energy efficiency rating of less than Band E. Changes to how energy performance certificates (EPC) are generated will affect many premises. The course will look at how to comply with the new regulation and effect of EPC changes. Improving energy efficiency will reduce the excess cold hazard and help avoid condensation complaints and reduce trips and falls.
The trainer is an experience landlord, trainer and has been involved for many years in energy efficiency including giving evidence to Parliamentary Select Commission and chaired the Government's Advisor Committee for the energy efficiency regulations.
