Tenancy Application Form

Prior to granting a tenancy you should collect as much information as possible about the prospective tenant(s). This will help you as the landlord in vetting your prospective tenants to see whether they would be suitable for renting your property.

Personal Information

The Tenancy Application Form asks for personal information regarding the potential tenant(s). Such information is very important for a landlord to obtain, especially if any problems should occur during the actual tenancy.

The information enables you to assess the suitability of the potential tenant(s) to see how likely it is that they would be reliable and respectful towards your property during the tenancy. The form asks details of the tenant's employment status, any benefits they may receive, whether they will have children or animals in the property and arguably most importantly, details of their current living situation.

This information is also useful when you perform a tenant credit check or tenant reference which helps to predict what the tenant might be like over the next few months or years in terms of reliability so not only an indicator of keeping the property in good condition, but paying their rent on time.
