Hyndburn Starts Selective Licensing Consultation

Hyndburn Borough Council have announced plans to try and extend its existing Selective Licensing scheme, which is due to come to an end after 5 years on 30th November 2017. The newly proposed scheme includes an extended area within the areas of Accrington and Church and, if approved, could cost landlords £620 in the first year alone.

The proposed fee structure for the selective licence scheme is as follows:

  • Application fee - £500 per property
  • Annual fee - £120 per property per year or part year

The consultation closes 17th April 2017, the RLA will be submitting a reply and we urge our members to do the same.

Telford Landlords Facing £600 Licensing Fees - 17 March 2017

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council to Go Ahead with Licensing - 3 March 2017

On the 16th February 2017 Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council made the decision to designate the Darwen Area of Blackburn with Darwen as an area of Selective Licensing.
